Intelligent Medical Objects Announces Integration of 2012 ICD-10-CM within IMO® Problem IT™

01/12/2012

Rapid and complete integration of new content ensures that vendor partners are always working with the latest data during system transition

Northbrook, IL - January 10, 2012 - Intelligent Medical Objects (IMO®), the leader in clinical interface terminology, today announced the release of IMO Problem IT™ 2012 Regulatory 1.3, which includes full support for the 2012 version of ICD-10-CM. Published in December by National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), the 2012 ICD-10-CM update includes 706 new codes and 732 code changes. With IMO's complete integration of the new content within a month of its publication (Problem IT R1.3 release was made available to IMO users on January 3rd), vendor partners can be confident that they are always working with the latest data in their system transition period.

"As healthcare providers gear up for the stressful transition to ICD-10-CM in 2013, ProblemIT is always kept up to date to allow our partners to continue work on their ICD-10-CM readiness efforts, uninterrupted by large code set changes," said Frank Naeymi-Rad, IMO CEO and Chairman of the Board. "IMO's Clinical Interface Terminology services ease the burden of coding environment changes and updates. Our robust clinical vocabulary, and our dedication in working with our vendor partners, allows for the proper capture and preservation of clinical intent while ensuring that their clients meet regulatory coding requirements."

First released with ICD-10-CM mappings back in August 2011, a full two years ahead of the mandated October 2013 compliance deadline, IMO ProblemIT provides a complete solution for ICD-10-CM. For the 706 new ICD-10-CM codes, ProblemIT provides over 3,610 associated terms that allow for a greater level of specificity for clinicians. The clinical terms in ProblemIT are tailored for physicians and free of the billing-centric language that makes ICD-10-CM so complex. At the same time, ProblemIT leverages additional data modeling to assist users in locating correct billing codes. The enhancements that ProblemIT provides to ICD-10-CM greatly reduce the pains of the transition for vendors and providers alike.

IMO's Clinical Interface Terminology is a suite of vocabulary products that allow clinicians to document diagnoses and care plans within an EHR using the familiar words and phrases that enable them to fully express clinical intent. This robust, user-friendly vocabulary is mapped to standardized vocabularies such as ICD-9-CM, ICD-10-CM, SNOMED® CT, HCPCS, CPT®, LOINC, MeSH and UMLS. IMO's Clinical Interface Terminology easily connects providers with the patient and administrative information they need to support uniform labeling of health profiles, services rendered, and outcomes across the enterprise.
