Physician Informaticist

The role of a Physician Informatacist will be to provide support to all operational teams responsible to the integration, implementation, and clinical support of IMO products and services within IMO-enabled solutions.


In addition, a Physician Informatacist will be involved in new product launch at IMO from a clinical perspective, with a focus on strategic and tactical projects that are borne out of the needs expressed by IMO clients.  These should focus on, but not be limited to, those that have a high probability for resulting in new revenue opportunities. At times, this individual will be provide clinical support across cross-functional teams for a particular solution or goal to ensure proper rollout during an early adopter program or development of a particular product.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibility for designated clinical aspects of Product Integration, Implementation, & Clinical Services Team’s objectives and responsibilities, which include the following:

  • Contribute to development of new IMO product implementations within IMO partner applications and support for these implementations, inclusive of, but not limited to the following:
    • Product development
    • Product integration efforts
    • Internal & external (client/partner) projects
    • Clinical support of sales/marketing initiatives
    • Internal and external customer support SOP’s
  • Prompt resolution of customer support cases with CSI ownership
    • Collaboration with Sales/Marketing Teams to contribute clinical perspectives to sales materials related to vendor implementations
  • Product launch responsibilities are inclusive of the following:
    • New product ideation
      • Work closely with IMO Sales, Channel Management, Account Management, and Products & Services client-facing teams to understand market needs
      • Provide clinical assessment and analysis pertaining to IMO opportunities related to market needs
    • Product integration
      • When desired, prototype new product and service offerings for alpha or beta adoption by IMO clients and vendor partners
      • Collaborate with IMO clients and vendor partners on initial validation of new products and services from a clinical perspective.
    • Product operationalization
      • Assist in creating a path to operationalize new products and services with appropriate IMO teams to ensure success and general availability of new products and services from a clinical perspective.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Degree: M.D. or D.O.
  • 5 years clinical experience
  • Extensive understanding of inpatient and outpatient clinical work-flow from an informatics perspective
  • Strong clinical informatics background- Board certification in Clinical Informatics preferred
  • Extensive knowledge of various electronic health records’ function and capabilities
  • Extensive understanding of standardized code sets including ICD, CPT, and SNOMED
