Project Coordinator

Project Coordinators are typically those that have 1-3 years of professional experience and a strong interest in Project Management.  Project Coordinators are responsible for providing administrative coverage and facilitating the completion of assigned projects for various teams in the Knowledge Department.  Project Coordinators understand the processes that affect successful delivery, appropriately manage risks and issues, provide documentation support for operational scope, requirements and design, participate in application testing, and partner with product and platform owners to understand customer issues as they arise.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Project Planning - Outline milestones that align w/ the delivery of existing products and services.  Coordinate resource allocation planning where needed with the operational teams to ensure appropriate coverage.
  • Requirements & Design- Understand requirements to support delivery; Recommend changes to the requirements within the scope of the deliverables.  Understand & document the solution design for business and operational systems; Recommend improvements to the overall design within the scope of the deliverables.
  • Development & Testing - Understand the system components that are being delivered in support of the project.  Contribute to the review of test plans; Participate in systems and user acceptance testing; Adhere to bug reporting & tracking policies to ensure coverage.
  • Installation / Production Validation Testing - Monitor the implementation of a given enhancement; Ensure that the installation was successful via participation in Production Validation testing; Adhere to bug reporting & tracking policies to ensure coverage.
  • Provide thorough and accurate reporting to the team lead where appropriate.  Takes ownership and ensures timely resolution for customers.

Technical Requirements - Education, Areas of Knowledge, and Experience

  • Undergraduate degree in business or technical field
  • 2-5 Years work experience
  • Microsoft Office tools – Excel, Word, Visio
  • Participation in the implementation and/or use of healthcare systems in a variety of settings a plus
  • Participation in implementation projects across multiple disciplines a plus
  • Exposure to SQL, HTML, Java, C, and ability to communicate application architecture a plus.
  • Certification not necessary for this position, but PMP or CAPM is a plus
  • Technical skills can be trained.
