Sales Engineer

For initial product development and the onboarding of new software vendors, the IMO Integration Development Team benefits from individuals with advanced technical skills to partner with our Sales Team during the technology evaluation stage of the sales process. In particular, the Sales Engineer will be tasked to provide advanced technical support to facilitate new and existing vendor partners as well as new and existing onboarding processes. Based upon the particular technical acumen of the integration developer, this individual will have responsibility for development of IMO Technical Services & Integration Team tools and demonstration platforms.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • New integration support—Provide technical, development, and architectural support for prospective and new partners for IMO solutions. 
  • Coordinate collaboration with customer/vendor partner to understand use-cases and integrate IMO products in alignment with IMO best-practices. 
  • Partner with IMO Software Engineering, Knowledge, and other operational teams to support new partner initiatives.
  • Provide advanced technical support for existing integrations
  • Provide ongoing development for IMO-engineered integrations—Provide for ongoing development, innovation and support for integrations that IMO controls for end-users and/or vendor partners
  • Create customer-facing and internal technical documentation as necessary
  • Work closely with IMO teams to define requirement and functional specifications for development work to be undertaken by the IMO Product Integration or Software Engineering teams.
  • Take ownership of Product Integration Team-engineered solutions as designated
  • Participate in application requirement and design discussions to help define Integration Team-engineered solutions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Bachelors’  degree (Minor in Computer Science or a related field or commensurate programming experience)
  • 3+ years in client-facing technical support or sales engineering role
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong computer skills
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills (C#, Oracle a plus)
  • Experience in health information technology a plus
  • IMO product experience a plus

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements of the Job

  • Onsite in Northbrook, IL strongly preferred
  • Involves significant time in front of computer as well as in meetings (in-person and via telephone and web conference)
  • Position requires flexibility in hours and work schedule
  • Some travel may be required (up to 25%)
