Sales Engineer

The IMO Integration Development Team benefits from individuals with advanced technical and communication skills. Sales Engineers provide technical support throughout the partner onboarding process, which includes assisting the Sales Team on technical sales discussions, working with partner product managers to understand their use case and needs, and working with partner developers to ensure implementation of IMO products in accordance with our best practices. Sales engineers also work closely with other internal IMO teams to define product specifications and requirements for new products and product enhancements. Lastly, based on the particular technical acumen of the Sales Engineer, they will be responsible for product or technical ownership of IMO Technical Services & Integration Team tools and demonstration platforms.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with vendor partners to integrate IMO solutions in accordance with best practices based on their use case and needs 
  • Assist partner developers and engineers with integrating IMO APIs, web services, and SDKs 
  • Provide advanced technical support for existing integrations 
  • Assist sales team in communicating product features and technical components of IMO solutions to partners' business and technical teams 
  • Identify and communicate partner requirements to IMO product and engineering teams to support new initiatives 
  • Take ownership of Product Integration Team engineered solutions as designated 
  • Participate in application requirement and design discussions for internal and external facing tools 
  • Contribute to development of internal and external facing tools throughout the development process 
  • Create customer-facing and internal technical documentation as necessary 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • Bachelors’ degree (Minor in Computer Science or a related field or commensurate programming experience) 
  • 3+ years in client-facing technical support or sales engineering role 
  • Strong analytical skills 
  • Strong object-oriented programming skills (C#, Oracle a plus) 
  • Experience with RESTful web service integration a plus 
  • Experience in health information technology a plus 
  • IMO product experience a plus

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements of the Job

  • Onsite in Northbrook, IL strongly preferred
  • Involves significant time in front of computer as well as in meetings (in person and via telephone and web conference)
  • Position requires flexibility in hours and work schedule
  • Some travel may be required (up to 25%)
