Raja Cholan is the first recipient of the Dr. Frank Naeymi-Rad and Dr. Theresa A. Kepic $25,000 Scholarship for Biomedical Informatics established by Drs. Naeymi-Rad and Kepic.
NORTHBROOK, IL – February 28, 2018 – Intelligent Medical Objects, Inc. (IMO), developer of the most-widely used and physician-preferred terminology service for electronic health records (EHR) systems, announced today that Raja Cholan is the first recipient of the Dr. Frank Naeymi-Rad and Dr. Theresa A. Kepic $25,000 Scholarship for Biomedical Informatics established by Drs. Naeymi-Rad and Kepic. Cholan is a student in the Master of Science in Biomedical Informatics Program at the Oregon Health Science University (OHSU) School of Medicine in Portland, Oregon.
IMO is excited to announce its collaboration with this scholarship award by facilitating Cholan’s participation in a project using IMO’s clinical quality measures (CQM) dashboard to identify CQM value sets codes not covered in OHSU’s CQMSs. Results of this project may help others better understand the code usage and assess how these missing codes impact CQM performance.
“We’re very excited to help enhance patient care and spur innovation in the medical domain,” said Frank Naeymi-Rad, PhD, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of IMO, adding: “We are confident that Cholan’s project will accomplish amazing things.”
Dr. Kepic is an Obstetrics and Gynecology physician who practices in North Chicago, Illinois. She is on the Board of Directors for the Leap of Faith Foundation, an organization that identifies and accelerates the best new ideas in healthcare to improve clinical outcomes, reduce care costs, and better the healthcare experience for patients, care providers, medical professionals and institutions.
Dr. Naeymi-Rad is the co-founder, CEO, and Chairman of IMO, and an expert in applying standards-based terminology solutions to healthcare problems.
